BLM Pinedale Hosts Greater Sage-Grouse Public Meeting

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office, in coordination with the Pinedale Anticline Project Office, will host a Greater Sage-Grouse public meeting on Thursday, March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pinedale Field Office, 1625 W. Pine St. in Pinedale, Wyo.

This meeting is a follow-up to the Feb. 20 Wildlife Annual Planning Meeting (APM) and is prompted by the drop in the number of active sage-grouse leks in the Duke’s Triangle Complex on the Mesa, a Wildlife Monitoring and Mitigation Matrix trigger. Monitoring data and maps will be presented and public comments sought regarding appropriate mitigation planning and implementation.

The 2012 Greater Sage-Grouse Monitoring Annual Report for the Pinedale Anticline Project Area (PAPA) is available online at

As directed in the 2008 PAPA Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision, a general APM is scheduled each year encompassing a wide range of PAPA topics. A separate Wildlife APM was established to coincide more closely with the availability of wildlife data and to allow for a deeper and more efficient discussion of wildlife issues. Additional follow-up meetings are scheduled as needed.

Please contact Eric Decker at 307-367-5386 for more information.
