BLM Kemmerer Field Office Schedules Additional Dempsey-Rock Creek
Travel Management Plan Informational Open House

The Bureau of Land Management Kemmerer Field Office (KFO) has added an informational open house for the Dempsey-Rock Creek (DRC) Travel Management Plan (TMP) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at the Cokeville Town Hall at 110 Pine St., Cokeville, Wyo.

The 125,000 acre DRC area is located 10 miles northwest of Kemmerer. An estimated 1,100 miles of trails and roads currently intersect it and new ones are regularly being created. A TMP will help provide and manage public access, maintain existing access rights and protect various resource values. The public is strongly encouraged to submit comments on their current usage of the DRC area and how they hope it will be used and managed in the future.

More information about the DRC TMP is available at http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/documents/kfo/drctmp.html.

Please contact Mierzejewski at 307-828-4508 or wmierzej@blm.gov with any questions or comments regarding the DRC TMP.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's mission is to manage and conserve the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations under our mandate of multiple-use and sustained yield. In Fiscal Year 2013, the BLM generated $4.7 billion in receipts from public lands.
