Public Input Requested on Realty Action

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Worland Field Office is requesting input on a non-competitive (direct) sale of public land in Hot Springs County, Wyo.

A direct sale of ten acres of public land was initiated after the Box Cars Ranch was sold in 2006 and the new owners discovered that permanent ranch structures were actually located on public land.

The public may submit comments regarding the proposed land sale. Comments should be received by May 9 and emailed to or mailed to the Bureau of Land Management, Worland Field Office, P.O. Box 119, Worland, WY 82401.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's mission is to manage and conserve the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations under our mandate of multiple-use and sustained yield. In Fiscal Year 2014, the BLM generated $5.2 billion in receipts from public lands.
