BLM Worland Releases Grazing Permit Renewal EAs

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Worland Field Office announces the availability of two grazing permit renewal environmental assessments (EAs) for public review and comment.

The EAs have been prepared to address grazing management on the Lake Creek and Vass Allotments in order to promote healthy, sustainable rangeland ecosystems and to meet rangeland health standards. Both allotments are located in Hot Springs County, approximately 30 miles northwest of Thermopolis, Wyo., in the Worland Field Office area.

The EAs are available for review by visiting the BLM website at http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/wfodocs.html. The public comment period runs from April 1 through April 30, 2010. Comments should be addressed to AFM Resources, BLM-Worland Field Office, P.O. Box 119, Worland, WY, 82401. Comments can also be emailed to worland_wymail@blm.gov.

For more information, please contact John Elliott or Mike Tietmeyer at 307-347-5100.

The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's mission is to manage and conserve the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations under our mandate of multiple-use and sustained yield. In Fiscal Year 2013, the BLM generated $4.7 billion in receipts from public lands.
