BLM in Kemmerer to Offer Limited Services

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Kemmerer Field Office will be doing necessary building maintenance June 20 – July 5.

During the maintenance the BLM office will remain open, with limited services. Many of the employees will be conducting fieldwork, training, and meetings during this time and may not be available. Please plan on contacting employees prior to June 20 if possible. “The project is going to be disruptive and we appreciate everyone’s patience.” John Christensen explained.

Information, fire wood permits, and other general services will still be available during this time at an office trailer on site to meet the public’s needs. Access to files and records will be limited as these will be in storage while the work is being conducted.

For more information, contact the Kemmerer Field Office at 307-828-4500, 312 Highway 189 North, Kemmerer, WY, 83101.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. In Fiscal Year 2012, activities on public lands generated $4.6 billion in revenue, much of which was shared with the States where the activities occurred. In addition, public lands contributed more than $112 billion to the U.S. economy and helped support more than 500,000 jobs.
