Trail Center Returns to Winter Hours
With fall and winter fast approaching, the Bureau of Land Management’s National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) will return to winter hours of operation beginning Tuesday, October 14, 2008.
The facility will be closed on Sunday, October 12, 2008 and Monday, October 13, 2008, and will re-open for winter hours on Tuesday, October 14th.
NHTIC’s winter hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday. These hours will be effective until mid-April, 2009. The NHTIC will be closed on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 27th; Christmas, Thursday, December 25th; and New Year’s, Thursday, January 1st.
Upcoming events this winter include a special performance and presentation by Riders in the Sky on the morning of November 19, 2008. The event will be free to the public and will include musical performances and a presentation on the history of "cowboy music.”
Planning for the Trails Center’s annual Holiday on the Homestead is also underway. The Holiday on the Homestead event will be held all day on Saturday December 13, 2008. Festivities will include music and special presentations throughout the day. This annual event is free to the public.
