BLM Sponsors NPLD Projects
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Field Office sponsored two National Public Lands Day events.
On August 16, a buck-and-pole fence was built at the White Mountain Petroglyphs. A fence was also built at the Point of Rocks Stage Station cemetery and three park benches installed along the recently paved walking path. Interpretive signs will also be installed at the Point of Rocks location completing the project.
BLM Rock Springs Field Manager Lance Porter said, “We want to thank everyone that contributed to these projects. We couldn’t have done it without the help of volunteers and the generous donations.”
Contributors for the NPLD event were Varley Mercantile, Lewis & Lewis, Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce, Oregon California Trails Association, Asphalt Services, Mountain Gas, BLM Casper Trails Center, Union Pacific Railroad Museum, Wyoming State Archives, and Wyoming State Travel and Tourism.”
