The washout was reported by BLM civil engineering staff on July 24 and is located approximately three-quarters of a mile south of Fifteenmile Road, and 11 miles north of Gooseberry Road. About 20 feet of rock gabion had been washed away by swift water in the middle of the channel, leaving a large debris pile containing sharp heavy wire. Barricades and warning signs have been placed at the washout and at the nearest road intersections at Gooseberry Road and Fifteenmile Road. Repairs are expected to be completed by Aug 15. The Platte Pipeline Road receives moderate use by pipeline personnel, ranchers, wild horse enthusiasts and rock hounds. For more information, please contact Doug Bleak at 307-347-4219. - BLM -
