BLM Buffalo Field Office hosts
Best Management Practices Workshop
On April 15, 2008, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Buffalo Field Office is hosting its 5th annual best management practices (BMP) workshop. The workshop will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.at the Bozeman Historic Conference Center in Buffalo, Wyo.
The workshop focus is Buffalo Field Office policy guidance and best management practices for the Powder River Basin. The morning session will focus on Buffalo Field Office policy specific to the inspection and enforcement program, road guidance, and the cultural program. The afternoon session will include top soil importance, cheat grass, and subsurface drip irrigation.
These presentations are meant to increase industry and BLM knowledge of available techniques and technologies. Time for questions and discussion has been included in the agenda.
BMPs are innovative, dynamic, and improved environmental protection practices applied to oil and natural gas drilling and production to help ensure that energy development is conducted in an environmentally responsible manner. BMPs protect wildlife and landscapes as BLM works to develop vitally needed domestic energy sources.
The workshop is free and open to regulators, industry and interested public. If you have questions, please contact Casey Freise at (307) 684-1100.
