Pinedale BLM Office Holds Ceremony and Open House:
Public invited to meet new
Field Manager Chuck Otto and Ranger Shane Wasem
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Pinedale Field Office will be swearing-in Chuck Otto as the new Field Manager and Shane Wasem as the Law Enforcement Ranger on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. An open house will also be held that afternoon from 2-4 to welcome the public to the new building.
Chuck has been the field manager since July. Before starting in Pinedale, Chuck was the BLM’s Deputy Division Chief, Division of Planning and Science Policy, in Washington, D.C. He began his career with the BLM in 1976, working as a wild horse wrangler in Rock Springs. He worked as a forester and outdoor recreation planner in Wyoming and Nevada, as well as the team lead for the Blackleaf Oil and Gas Environmental Impact Statement in Great Falls, Mont. He also served as the Chief of Planning and Environmental Coordination-Lewistown District, Mont. and the area manager, Lewiston Field Office, in Montana from 1990 to 1998.
“I look forward to working with the outstanding BLM staff in the Pinedale Field Office, as well as state and local governments and all of the people who enjoy and rely upon their public lands,” Chuck said in May. “It’s a pleasure to return to the West, particularly to such a remarkable area.”
Shane Wasem joined the Pinedale Field Office in November. Prior to his position in Pinedale, he worked in law enforcement with the U.S. Forest Service in Jackson, Wyo.
The Pinedale Field Office is located at 1625 West Pine St. in Pinedale. For more information, call the field office at (307) 367-5300.
