December 21, 2007 Contact:    Mark P. Meyer   307-828-4548 Dempsey Basin Road Closure Harsh weather conditions typically limit access to the Dempsey Basin Road during the winter months. However, this year, Fortuna LP Company will be clearing the road as necessary to drill an exploratory oil/gas well in the Fish Creek area. The BLM does not encourage the public to use the road during the winter months and required the installation of a gate at the cattle guard on the southern end of the road for safety purposes. The gate will be closed and locked starting January 1, 2008 as weather conditions warrant, until Fortuna has completed its project. Emergency services on the Dempsey Basin Road will not be readily available despite the plowing. Access will be permitted to anyone that owns land or has facilities along the Dempsey Basin Road.
