BLM Releases Environmental Assessment for the
Tommy James Basin Sand and Gravel Sale
An opportunity is now available through Jan. 31, 2008 for the public to review and comment on the BLM Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Tommy James Basin Sand and Gravel Sale. The EA analyzes the environmental impact of a proposed 10-acre sand and gravel sale located approximately 24 miles south of Rock Springs.
The impact analysis from the proposed pit presented in the EA identifies either no significant impacts, which would allow the sale to proceed, or significant impacts, which would require further evaluation in an Environmental Impact Statement.
Government agencies, the public, and other interested parties are encouraged to participate in the environmental analysis to ensure the best land use decisions are made.
The complete Environmental Assessment is available for public review at the BLM Rock Springs Field Office and also electronically at: http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/field_offices/Rock_Springs.htm.
Please send your comments to Adam Day, BLM Rock Springs Field Office; 280 Highway 191 North; Rock Springs, Wyo. 82901; or email: email@example.com.
