December 11, 2007 Contact: Lesley A. Collins,  307-261-7603  Muddy Mountain Road Closes for Winter Muddy Mountain Road will be closed for the winter season starting Sunday, December 16, 2007. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Casper Field Office will lock the gate Sunday afternoon. Muddy Mountain Road is the primary access route to the Muddy Mountain Environmental Education Area (EEA), two campgrounds and numerous trails. Due to mud and snow, the road is unsafe in the winter for vehicular traffic. However, the Muddy Mountain area is open for snowmobile use on designated state trails. The road is closed annually based on weather and road conditions and will be open again around June 1, 2008. For more information call the BLM office at (307) 261-7600. -BLM-
