Collins, 307-261-7603 BLM Burns Slash Piles This WinterThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is planning several prescribed burns within Johnson, Campbell, Natrona, Converse, and Weston counties. Burning could begin as soon as December 3, 2007 and continue throughout the winter as conditions permit. Buffalo Field Office (Johnson County): Billy Creek – Hand and machine slash piles located in the Billy Creek area of the southern Bighorn Mountains. The piles were created from thinning and fuel load reduction operations. Powder River Properties – Machine slash piles located near Dull Knife reservoir. The piles were created from fuel load reduction operations. Graves Corral – Machine slash piles located in the Graves Corral area of the southern Bighorn Mountains. The piles were created from past logging activities.
