Kemmerer BLM Sets Nov. 7 Meeting for the Moxa Arch Project
Draft Environmental Impact Statement
The Kemmerer Bureau of Land Management (BLM) released the Moxa Arch Area Infill Gas Development Project Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for public review on Oct.12, 2007. The BLM asks the public to submit their comments on the DEIS within the 60-day comment period that began on Oct.12 and ends Monday, Dec. 10, 2007.
As part of the DEIS review process, the Kemmerer BLM will host an open house to discuss the document and accept comments from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at the Little America Hotel and Travel Center in Little America on Interstate 80 off of Exit 68.
The DEIS analyzes four alternatives for development in the project area which includes the Operators’ Proposed Action. The operators’ proposal is to drill up to 1,861 new wells from 1,861 new well pads over a 10-year period. The project area encompasses approximately 475,800 acres of mixed federal, state and private land in Lincoln, Sweetwater, and Uinta Counties Wyoming.
