Kemmerer BLM Issues Finding Of No Significant Impact for
Bear Canyon Developmental Exploratory Development
The Kemmerer Bureau of Land Management (BLM) today issued its Finding of No Significant Impact for the Bear Canyon Developmental Exploratory project.
Fortuna U.S. L.P. filed a Notice of Stakings (NOSs) with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Kemmerer Field Office in the fall of 2006, for a wildcat exploratory field on public lands within Lincoln County, Wyoming. The Bear Canyon 8-12 well is located in Section 12 Township 23 North, Range 118W, 6th Principal Meridian of Lincoln County, Wyoming.
The FONSI authorizes the construction, drilling and production of the proposed well location with additional conditions of approval which will minimize the overall impacts of the project. Project implementation could be affected by any existing wildlife habitat concerns or stipulations.
The EA and Decision represents the culmination of a comprehensive planning process involving the public and numerous cooperators at the federal, state and local level to analyze options for a balance of uses in the planning area. The process was undertaken in full compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and other applicable legal requirements.
