Cody BLM Office Holds Open House:
Public invited to meet new Field Manager Mike Stewart
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Cody Field Office will be holding an open house on Thursday July 26, 2006 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The open house will give the public an opportunity to meet the new Cody Field Office Manager Mike Stewart. Stewart assumed leadership at the Cody Field Office in June.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the people who use and enjoy BLM-administered public lands in the northern Bighorn Basin.” said Stewart. “We plan to have plenty of maps and brochures on hand, along with BLM specialists who can answer questions about the public lands.”
Stewart began his BLM career in 1981 as a seasonal Range Technician in the Rawlins District. His first permanent BLM assignment came in 1983 as a Range Technician, and then as a Range Conservationist, in Worland.
Since 2003, Stewart has served as the Associate Field Manager of the BLM Lewistown, Montana Field Office, following assignments in Colorado, Nevada, and Lander, Wyoming. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture (Range Management) from the University of California at Chico, and has worked extensively with wildlife mitigation projects, recreation site development and management, and a variety of resource issues.
Mike and his wife Alisa have been married for 25 years and have one son, Bryce who is in his senior year at the University of Montana majoring in Criminal Justice.
The Cody Field Office is located at 1002 Blackburn Avenue in Cody. For more information, call the field office at 307-578-5900.
