BLM seek contractor for wild horse and burro
holding, adoption and training facility

The Wyoming Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro program is seeking proposals for a contractor-owned and run wild horse and burro holding, adoption and training facility.

The facility needs to be located in either Wyoming or Nebraska, within a 150-mile radius of Cheyenne, Wyo. This solicitation is for the year long feeding and care for up to 150 wild horses and burros on pasture and/or corral as well as the adoption and/or training of the horses maintained at the contractor’s facility. The contractor must provide all necessary labor, materials and facilities to complete the full terms of the contract. The contractor must have the ability to conduct training clinics and seminars as requested by the BLM to potential and current adopters at either their facility or adoption events. The contractor may gentle or train the animals to any level necessary to get them adopted and may adopt untrained animals. This is not a complete list of the solicitation requirements.

The performance period will be from October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008, with four additional one year option periods. The solicitation will be released on April 23, 2007 and all proposals must be received at the BLM National Business Center in Denver no later than May 23, 2007 at 2:00 Denver Local Time.
