BLM Hosts Scoping meeting on Sand Hills
Comprehensive Travel & Transportation Management Plan
On April 12, 2007, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Casper Field Office is hosting a public scoping meeting on the Sand Hills Comprehensive Travel and Transportation Plan. The meeting will be between 6 to 7 p.m. at the Casper Field Office, 2987 Prospector Drive. This meeting was originally scheduled for March 29, 2007 but was postponed due to weather.
The plan will address Off-Highway Vehicle use and the designation of Roads and Trails within the Sand Hills Transportation Area located 10 miles northeast of Casper, in Townships 35 and 36 North, Range 76 and 77 West in Natrona and Converse Counties.
The scoping meeting is a starting point in which the public can identify issues to be addressed. Issues already identified include damage to vegetation and wildlife habitat, geophysical exploration, rights-of ways, additional transportation needs, non-motorized recreational use, and land tenure adjustments.
