BLM Monitoring Survey Work in McCullough Peaks Area

The Bureau of Land Management Cody Field Office is overseeing survey work currently taking place in the McCullough Peaks area.

Survey flags and water soluble paint markers are being used to delineate the proposed Red Point 3-D Seismic Exploration Project. BLM is currently preparing an environmental assessment (EA) of the proposal and details were presented at a public meeting on March 19 in Cody.

The survey is a preliminary step of the EA and has been designed to avoid damaging resources such as habitat and vegetation. The temporary visual impact of the markers will be removed when the project is completed in the fall of 2007.

Project documents can be found at: http://www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/info/NEPA/cyfodocs/redpoint3d.html
