BLM Buffalo Field Office hosts Best Management Practices Workshop
On February 1, 2007, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Buffalo Field Office is hosting its 4th Best Management Practices (BMP) workshop at the Bozeman Historic Conference Center in Buffalo, Wyoming. The focus of the workshop is on reclamation and will begin at 8 am and end around 4 pm.
The morning session will be about BLM policy, available tools, and soil and vegetation restoration. The afternoon session will include monitoring, seeding, and erosion control.
These presentations are meant to increase industry and BLM knowledge of available techniques and technologies. Time for questions and discussion has been included in the agenda.
BMPs are innovative, dynamic, and improved environmental protection practices applied to oil and natural gas drilling and production to help ensure that energy development is conducted in an environmentally responsible manner. BMPs protect wildlife and landscapes as BLM works to develop vitally needed domestic energy sources.
The workshop is free and open to regulators, industry and interested public. If you have questions, please contact Casey Freise or Bill Ostheimer at 307-684-1100.
