Accident Causes Bridge Closure In McCullough Peaks Area

Whistle Creek Bridge on BLM Road 1213 (Whistle Creek Road) in Park County is closed until further notice. The BLM bridge is located 12 miles north of the Greybull Highway and 4 miles southwest of Highway 32. The bridge was significantly damaged on Thursday morning when a heavy truck attempting to cross the bridge off-center, sheared 28 feet of decking from the east edge of the bridge.

The road is primarily used by oil field vehicles and visitors to the McCullough Peaks Wild Horse Management Area. Barricades have been placed at the bridge, and warning signs have been placed one-quarter mile and one-half mile before the bridge in both directions.
