December 4, 2006 Contact: Cindy Wertz 307-775-6014 BLM Sells Christmas Tree PermitsThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Wyoming could solve your Christmas tree worries. BLM offices around the state offer Christmas tree permits on various sections of public land. Several offices also provide permits for Forest Service areas. The following BLM offices offer permits: Worland & Cody Field Offices Worland and Cody offices offer Christmas tree permits for $7.50 each. They can be purchased at the front desk of either office during business hours. Lander and Rawlins Field Offices Lander Field Office Area offers permits for accessible public lands in the South Pass area. The Rawlins Field Office Area provides permits for accessible public lands in the Shirley Mountain area Permits for these two locations can also be obtained at the Casper Field Office. Permits are good for any type of tree, as long as the tree is 15 feet or less in height. The cost of the permits is $7.50 per tree, and you may get up to five trees on each permit. Kemmerer and Pinedale Field Offices The Kemmerer and Pinedale offices sell joint FS/BLM Christmas tree permits with the Bridger Teton National Forest. The tags are available at the BLM Kemmerer and Pinedale offices, along with the USFS Bridger Teton Offices, for $5 each. The tags are good for either BLM or FS lands. Rock Springs Field Office The RSFO is selling permits for just BLM lands in the Pine MTN, Little MTN, and southern portion of Wind River MTNS for $7.50 each for trees up to eight feet tall and $10.00 for trees over eight feet tall.
