Wild Horse Viewing Area Dedicated for Public Lands Day
A new viewing area overlooking the Rock Springs Wild Horse Preparation Facility is being dedicated on September 29 at 4:00 p.m. in honor of National Public Lands Day.
The area has been a favorite location for wild horse enthusiasts to view the corrals where wild horses are held after being gathered from public lands. The overlook development will include a parking area, a graveled pathway and a covered picnic area.
“This site overlooks the corrals allowing the public to see the horses without having to tour the corrals on foot,” said Ron Giles, Administrative Officer for the BLM. “The parking area is large enough to accommodate tourists and their RVs. Members of the public are welcome to join us for the dedication ceremonies.”
In cooperation with the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce, the BLM will promote the wild horses of Wyoming hoping to enhance tourist’s visits to Southwestern Wyoming.
Partners include Rocky Mountain Casing Company, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce.
