Hunting on Muddy Mountain

The Casper Field Office would like to inform outdoor enthusiasts planning to use the Muddy Mountain Environmental Educational Area this fall that forest management activities are in progress.

Commercial logging operations and public firewood cutting has been occurring on Muddy Mountain during the past several months. As a result, some side trails may be closed or blocked temporarily due to logging activities. Increased traffic including logging trucks should be expected.

The main access road to Muddy Mountain is currently very rough. All drivers should use caution and follow common sense rules of the road.

The BLM would also like to remind hunters that discharging firearms within the campgrounds is prohibited. Have a safe and successful hunting season. Please contact the Casper Field Office at 307-261-7600 for further information.
