BLM Fire Crew Digs In On Interpretive Trail Project

A BLM North Zone Fire Crew will assist State Park employees with construction of an interpretive trail loop at Hot Springs State Park this Thursday and Friday. Park Naturalist Bill Hankee said construction of the trail has been progressing with help from outside groups such as the Wyoming Boy’s School and the Bureau of Land Management Worland Field Office. The yet to be named trail will be a 1.49 mile loop with signs highlighting and explaining the impressive geological features of the park. Hankee expects completion of the construction phase on Friday. The final phase will be the installation of interpretive signs next year.

In assisting with the trail project the seasonal hires making up the BLM fire crew will gain valuable practice working with the hand tools used to build fire lines which are an important part of wildland fire management.
