BLM, LDS Church and ACLU Settle Martin’s Cove Lawsuit

A settlement agreement was signed today settling the lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), alleging the federal lease of the Martin’s Cove area to the LDS church unfairly gives "complete and unfettered control" to the LDS church.

The settlement directs BLM and the LDS church to use separate and distinct signage and interpretation in the area to clearly identify public land and public access.
