February 9, 2006 Contact: Rey Adame (307) 352-0399 Darlene Horsey (307) 352-0355 BLM Hosts Buffalo Soldier Presentation Feb. 17, 2006The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Rock Springs Field Office will host an historical presentation Friday, Feb. 17, on the “Buffalo Soldiers.” The presentation is part of BLM’s observance of Black History Month. J.C. Brown and Willie F. Reynolds, retired members of the Department of Defense, will discuss the historical significance of the Buffalo Soldiers to the U.S. military and African American History. The event begins at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 17. The presentation is for BLM employees and the entire Fourth Grade class of Desert View Elementary School in Rock Springs. After the presentation, the children will visit the BLM Rock Springs horse corrals. The media are invited to both events. (Editor’s Note: Lunch will be provided for media covering this event.
