Viva Naughton Cross Country Ski Trail is Now Open to Public
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) field office in Kemmerer invites the public to enjoy the Viva Naughton Cross Country Ski Trail. The no-fee trail located on the east side of Lincoln County Road 233 is directly across from the snowmobile trail parking lot. The Viva Naughton has been groomed and ready for use. Some markers have been placed along the four-mile trail.
“The trail is designed for beginner and intermediate cross country skiers,” said Wally Mierzejewski, recreation planner for the BLM Kemmerer field office. “This is the eighth year that the BLM has groomed the trail. The Viva Naughton is mainly flat and easy with some gentle hills, has a good view of the area, and crosses a variety of topography,” Mierzejewski added.
The trail is marked with the standard blue poles and is exclusive to cross country skiers. Visit the BLM Kemmerer field office at 312 Highway 189, (north of Kemmerer across from the Polar King Restaurant and south of the Highway Department office) to obtain free maps illustrating directions to the trail. If you prefer, call the BLM Kemmerer office main number is 307-828-4500 for more details.
