Planning

The Great Divide Resource Management Plan (RMP) was completed in November 1990. It was amended in 1998 to open lands to further consideration for coal leasing and to modify Shirley Mountain ORV designations. The RMP is currently in the revision process and will be renamed as the Rawlins RMP upon final approval of the document.

The Great Divide RMP has had eight maintenance actions completed. The maintenance actions were related to updating wild horse habitat management areas, designating the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail route, updating lands disposal language, terminating the Bairoil Landfill R&PP Lease, incorporating healthy rangelend standards and guidelines, and clarifying fire suppression terminology.
