Fishing
The lands surrounding Pinedale offer some of the best river, stream, and lake fishing in the Western United States. Fish species in Wyoming include Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Cutthroat Trout (the only trout native to WY), Grayling, Rainbow Trout, Golden Trout, Lake Trout, Kokanee (a landlocked freshwater salmon), Mackinaw and Mountain Whitefish. The Green and New Fork Rivers both provide excellent bank, wade and drift-boat fishing with plenty of public access. Boulder Lake provides opportunities for fishing and has a boat launch and campground. Many other small streams also offer good fishing opportunities.
For those with limited time, the CCC Ponds provide a fishing alternative that is close to town and not too far from the car. Wheelchair access, public restrooms, great fishing and beautiful scenery make this a stunning and user-friendly spot.
