Planning

The Kemmerer Resource Management Plan (RMP) was completed in April 1986. Two maintenance actions have been completed for healthy rangeland standards and guidelines and to clarify the language in the Record of Decision as the correct description of the plan.

Location

  • Covers BLM-administered lands and minerals in Lincoln, Sweetwater, and Uinta Counties in westcentral Wyoming.
  • Covers 1.63 million acres of public land and 1.87 million acres of federal mineral estate.
  • For livestock grazing administration, covers 567 allotments providing 162,000 AUMs.
  • Administered mineral resources are available for oil and gas leasing subject to standard stipulations and case-by-case application of other mitigation of surface disturbance. The Raymond Mountain Wilderness Study Area (WSA) including approximately 32,900 acres was excluded from oil and gas leasing.
  • Priority areas were established for coal leasing both surface and subsurface (about 15,200 acres).
