Welcome anglers!

Between the steep-walled canyons of the southern Bighorns or the windswept turrets of the Powder River Basin lie several beautiful rivers (and fish!) waiting for exploration. You can grab a one-day or an annual fishing license online from the Wyoming Game & Fish Department. Licenses are also sold at most local sporting goods stores.

In the Buffalo Field Office, the Middle Fork Powder River southwest of Kaycee offers blue-ribbon trout fishing coupled with scenic views of Red Wall country.

Staying in Buffalo? Drop a line in Clear Creek after enjoying a picnic or a nice walk at Mosier Gulch.

A short drive north of Sheridan will take you to the Welch Ranch along the banks of the Tongue River.
