Recreation Opportunities Test your backcountry skills in the Burnt Hollow area (20 miles north of Gillette), or the southern Bighorns along the Gardner Mountain Trail.
If you would like to fish a blue-ribbon trout stream, camp underneath these western skies, see the infamous Outlaw Cave of western lore or simply enjoy beautiful scenery, you can visit the Middle Fork Powder River Recreation Area. If you're a history buff, consider making the trek to the rugged Hole-in-the-Wall area which is teeming with legends of outlaws and cattle rustlers. Please remember that fishing and hunting licenses are required for these respective activities and can be obtained from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. All off-highway vehicles (OHV) are required to display a Wyoming ORV permit while operating upon public lands. These permits can be obtained from the Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources.
