Being Met Under ARRA Project
NEED: Road and trail inventories are being conducted in six field offices throughout Wyoming. Approximately 6,200 miles will be inventoried in Rawlins (2,602), Kemmerer (800), Worland (966), Pinedale, (1,400) Buffalo (360), and Newcastle (50) field offices.
RECOVERY ACT FUNDING: The project was awarded to AECOM, Inc. for a total of $530,415. Over 4,000 miles of roads were inventoried by two four-man riding crews. This project will continue into 2011.
BENEFITS: Over the winter, GIS-generated maps will be produced for the completed inventoried areas. Data collected from this inventory contract will be used in transportation planning. This project benefits both the BLM and public land users since access is critical for all resource uses, not just recreation.
