Worland Parking Lot Paving Project

NEED:  The project consists of replacing the asphalt parking lot at the Worland Field Office in order to reduce icing correct drainage problems and improve safety.

RECOVERY ACT FUNDING:  The project was awarded to C3, LLC from Evergreen, Colorado for a total of $313,000. The project was completed in August 2010. Other contractors assisting with the project included: Engineering Associates from Cody, 71 Construction from Riverton and S&T from Thermopolis.

BENEFITS:  Local contractors were used to remove and reinstall the security fence, haul asphalt from the old parking lot and to stripe the new parking lot.

The project will improve safety by establishing drainage of the parking lot, preventing accumulation of water which freezes in winter. Resources were conserved by reusing the ground asphalt from the old lot as base material to achieve the proper grade for the new parking lot.
