Our land law examiners and realty specialists ensure appropriate use of publc lands - through leases, easements, permits and more. As new land uses are proposed, it's up to land law and realty specialists to gather information about the multiple uses of the public lands in question and evaluate how additional uses might affect them. This is one of our greatest areas of need at the BLM. From burgeoning energy corridors to new technologies, leases to permits to crossed lines, you'll collaborate with other organizations to ensure the safe and proper use of all of our lands. And as one of the only Federal agencies with subsurface responsibilities, the BLM's land law and realty specialists must also determine how subsurface use affects surface lands. You'll be well-connected to the history of our land laws, as well as their future - affecting energy initiatives and more.
