Check out the latest employee news. | | | | Tim Wakefield, BLM Field Manager at Red Rock Sloan Field Office, wins APPL 2012 Agency Partner of the Year Award Tim Wakefield, Field Manager at Red Rock Sloan Field Office, won the Association of Partners for Public Lands (APPL) 2012 Agency Partner of the Year Award. According to APPL, Wakefield’s commitment to engaging partners is a comprehensive approach that involves a blend of maturity, open mindedness, strong work ethic and resource knowledge of all partners.
| Secretary Salazar Confers Valor Awards on Three BLM-Idaho Employees Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today conferred Department of the Interior Valor Awards on three employees who work for the BLM in Idaho. The individuals – Rick Carter, Edward Foley, and Brett Griffith – were recognized for their exemplary competence and heroism in saving the life of a truck driver from drowning in the Salmon River and in averting a series of potential collisions during a June 2011 logging truck accident on Highway I-95 near Riggins, Idaho.
| Pulaski Award Presented to Wind River/Bighorn Basin District Fire Program The prestigious Pulaski Award, presented to the Wind River/Bighorn Basin District fire program, is temporarily located at the Thermopolis Fire Hall in recognition of the BLM’s partnership with Hot Springs County Rural Fire District. Fire Management Officer Chuck Russell is sharing the award with partners by sending it to locations throughout the area.
| BLM Cody Field Office Wins National Wild Turkey Federation Award Destin Harrell, Bryan McKenzie and Mike Wengert of the Cody Field Office accepted the 2011 Making Tracks Award for Conservation Education from the National Wild Turkey Federation during the NWTF Convention, February 8-11, in Nashville. The Cody Field Office received the award for its land management efforts on behalf of wild turkeys and other wildlife.
| | BLM Cody's Jack Mononi Receives National Awards Cody Field Office Supervisory Range Management Specialist Jack Mononi was presented the 2012 Elk Conservation Achievement Award for Individual Achievement from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation on February 2 in Las Vegas. The award recognizes Mononi for his long-standing commitment to excellence in the enhancement and conservation of habitat for elk and other wildlife.
