Challenging, Creative Work
Every few months, a retiring employee sends a bureau-wide email filled with many thanks and good stories, often funny and familiar, about his or her many years with the BLM.
In one farewell email, an employee of almost thirty years described his best day on the job.

"Several years ago, my father - almost ninety years old then - spent two days on the job with me. It was the summer season, which meant that I, among other things, manned boats of fisherman and familes alike down local rivers.
One morning, before daybreak, my father and I met a group of three fisherman for a half-day tour. This was a serious group, quiet and focused...
So there we were, about an hour or so in, when my father leaned over- smiling - and whispered, 'They actually pay you to do this?'"

"They actually pay you to do this?"

COMING SOON! We believe that the BLM employees across the country share the sentiments of the retiree above. We believe that our employees find their work challenging, creative, and meaningful. So, we are engaging our employees in a new challenge - in our first-ever employee video contest.
Through the video contest, employees will create and enter short films that answer the question: "WHAT IS YOUR BLM?" All BLM employees will judge the submissions, and the winners will be posted here.
