Archaeology on the Conservation Trail The Bureau of Land Management has just returned from the National Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, an army base near Fredericksburg, Virginia. BLM was part of the Jamboree's "Conservation Trail".  At almost a mile long, the Trail offers a great chance to practice your conservation skills or learn about some of today's important conservation challenges. BLM's Archaeology exhibit focused on the construction of an Anasazi style pithouse based on an actual arhcaeological site that was excavated in Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, in Southwest Colorado. Construction of the pithouse from the ground up, using local materials, will be done almost entirely by Scouts on the Conservation Trail.
