New Mexico

Public lands in New Mexico account for more than 13 million acres (about 17 percent of the state). These lands abound in natural resources, as well as important paleontological, archaeological, and cultural findings. They are also the sites of a unique collection of caves, including the Endless Cave, located in southeast New Mexico. These caves were formed in the unique limestone features of the Azotes Mesa, in the foothills of the Guadalupe Mountains.
