Abbreviated Final EISs

You are allowed to use an abbreviated FEIS under 40 CFR 1503.4 when:
  • Only minor changes are made to the Draft EIS; and
  • Changes consist of technical, editorial, or nonsubstantive factual changes as a result of public comment.
 
You may want to use an abbreviated FEIS when you’ve met the above conditions, and:
  • You received few comments on the DEIS;
  • Printing and distribution costs associated with a full text EIS are a concern;
