Take It Outside! For Schools
Educating children in outdoor settings is a proven technique for improving student test scores and motivation, enhancing understanding of natural processes, and promoting attitudes of respect and responsibility.

Hands on the Land: This interagency network of field classrooms offers public lands educational programs for K-12 students in partnership with local schools and community organizations.

BLM Outdoor Education Programs: BLM sites offer outdoor education programs on topics ranging from natural and cultural resources to outdoor ethics.

Outdoor Careers: BLM Resource Explorers:  BLM natural and cultural resource specialists work outdoors in interesting, exciting settings; take a look at where they work and how they cope with their challenging jobs. BLM’s Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP) [link to SEEP write-up on separate page] offers students work-study opportunities with BLM. And under an agreement with BLM, Student Conservation Association [link to SCA write-up on separate page] student workers perform resource management and education projects in BLM communities around the nation.
