FGDC - The FGDC Cadastral Data Subcommittee is comprised of federal, state, county, local, and tribal organizations who use cadastral information to satisfy business needs. The Subcommittee developed and maintains the Cadastral Data Content Standard.(1.02mb pdf file).

LOC - Library of Congress. Also worth visiting is the American Memory page which provides a good digitial selection of maps.

NARA - Natioanal Archives and Records Administration, an independent Federal agency, is America's national recordkeeper. Their mission is to ensure ready access to the essential evidence that documents the rights of American citizens, the actions of Federal officials, and the national experience.

NGS - The National Geodetic Survey (NGS) defines and manages the National Spatial Reference System (NSRS).

NOAA - National Oceanic and Atomospheric Administration. NOAA´s mission is to describe and predict changes in the Earth's environment, and conserve and wisely manage the Nation's coastal and marine resources

ACSM - American Congress of Surveying and Mapping. Originally named the National Congress on Surveying and Mapping when it was founded in June 1941, the society sought to better coordinate the nation's surveying and mapping activities.

Cadastral.com - Privately supported reference providing information of interest to the land surveyor (also known as the Cadastral Surveyor) involved in the preservation and retracement of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) in the United States.

Color Landform Atlas of the United States. - These maps are created from arrays of elevation data. The elevation data was derived from contour maps elsewhere, some is available from the USGS. Actual satellite images are also available on this site.
