BEA Data POC: Melanie Rhinehart, 303.236.9940
The enterprise data architecture is an overall model of the data required across all functions within the BLM. The enterprise data model is described through groupings of entities called Data Subject Areas (DSAs). DSAs are groups of entities in which data are closely related and describe a general business idea or object. The grouping of entities based on a commonality of the data, and not how it is used by any given business process or application. For example, all information about people and organizations is grouped into a DSAs called "Person" annd "Organization". Almost every business process or application in the BLM uses the "Person" annd "Organization" DSAs, regardless of the specific program or function being performed. Through the analysis of business processes and systems, the data architects support projects in the development of their logical data models following internal data modeling guidelines and national data standards. These logical models are then used to further define each of the DSAs. Related Links
