Bureau Dispute Resolution Manager
Matt Magee has been a member of the BLM's Collaboration and Dispute Resolution team for four years. He holds a Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law, with emphases in Dispute Resolution and in Sustainability, Environmental, and Energy Law and a BA in Environmental Studies and Politics from Whitman College. He is a certified mediator and a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, and has previously worked on land-use, environmental, and collaboration/dispute resolution issues with the USDA Forest Service, Marion County Courts, and the office of Congresswoman Darlene Hooley.
Collaboration and Dispute Resolution Strategic Plan Lead
Patricia (Pat) Johnston is an experienced facilitator and collaborative engagement professional on detail to the Collaboration and Dispute Resolution Program from BLM-Oregon/Washington's Eugene District. Prior to this detail Pat served as Special Assistant to the Director for BLM, Conflict Resolution Specialist for the National Riparian Service Team, and before that was the BLM's project lead for the BLM West Eugene Wetlands Strategic Plan and a key player in the award-winning partnership effort the West Eugene Wetlands Collaborative.
The Collaboration and Dispute Resolution Strategic Plan is currently being undertaken to assess current and emerging drivers and gaps, and articulate direction for the Collaboration and Dispute Resolution Program in building capacity and services to better meet the needs of the BLM Field. This project includes a Needs Assessment as well as the formation of a broadly-representative Oversight Committee made up of leadership, management, and staff from across the BLM.
