Bureau Dispute Resolution Manager

Paul Politzer is the Bureau Dispute Resolution Manager. He is Chair of BLM’s ADR Advisory Council and is a certified mediator. Paul has a Juris Doctor from American University Law School and a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and has participated in, and conducted, training in ADR-based conflict prevention as well as conflict management and resolution. He has spent the majority of his career managing Bureau of Land Management programs and supervising staff in areas including solid minerals, land use planning, and rangeland resources. Paul also has worked for the U.S. Geological Survey, Minerals Management Service, and Federal Trade Commission.

Dispute Resolution Specialist

Jared Nichol  holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where he emphasized alternative dispute resolution and environmental law and policy in his studies. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a Chinese Studies minor, from Brigham Young University.  He is a recent graduate of the Presidential Management Fellowship, where he worked first at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and then in the ADR Program at the Bureau of Land Management.
