Q. Did the first Americans have to worry about being eaten by dinosaurs?A. Not at all! Although movies, TV shows, and cartoons sometimes show humans living with dinosaurs, they are just stretching the truth! Based on evidence scientists have found, the very last dinosaurs died about 66 million (66,000,000) years ago. Human-like apes (known as hominids) seem to have been on Earth for about 4,200,000 years. Evidence shows true humans (Homo sapiens) have only been on Earth for about 200,000 years. That means that 65,800,000 years passed on Earth between the time of dinosaurs and the time of humans. The first Americans were certainly safe from dinosaur attacks! |
