Celebrating 100 Years of Scouting

The Bureau of Land Management traveled to Fort A.P. Hill, an army base near Fredericksburg, Virginia, for the National Scout Jamboree, July 26-August 4, 2010. This year marks 100 years of Scouting in America and the BLM was there to help them celebrate.

The BLM was part of the Jamboree's "Conservation Trail". The Trail was almost a mile long, and offered scouts a great chance to practice their conservation skills or learn about some of today's important conservation challenges.

To celebrate and showcase the 10 ^thanniversary of the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM’s) National Landscape Conservation System (NLCS) in 2010, the BLM's exhibits on the Trail featured the outstanding natural and cultural resources of NLCS units in several states.
