Getting Fire Wise on the Conservation Trail

The Bureau of Land Management has just returned from the National Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill, an army base near Fredericksburg, Virginia.

BLM was part of the Jamboree's "Conservation Trail".  At almost a mile long, the Trail offers a great chance to practice your conservation skills or learn about some of today's important conservation challenges.

BLM's Fire exhibit taught the Scouts about the role fire plays in natural ecosystems, how fire is managed and controlled, and how they can protect their homes and property from wild land fires.
